Creating a Passkey Wallet on Windows
Product: Talentir Platform: Windows 10 / 11 Category: Account Setup · Authentication
Overview
When setting up your Talentir Passkey Wallet on a Windows device, you may be prompted with a "Security key" dialog. This is a standard Windows behavior and does not mean you need a physical security key. Follow the steps below to complete your passkey setup using Windows Hello instead.
Steps
- Begin the Passkey Wallet creation process in Talentir.
- Windows will display a security prompt. Do not select "Security key."
- Instead, select "This device" or "Windows Hello" from the available options.
- Authenticate using your Windows Hello method — PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition.
- Your Passkey Wallet will be created and linked to your Talentir account.
Note: If the dialog only shows the security key option, click Cancel. Windows will retry and present Windows Hello as a fallback option.
Prerequisites
Make sure Windows Hello is configured on your device before creating a passkey:
- Open Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options.
- Set up at least one Windows Hello method (PIN is required; fingerprint or face are optional).
- Retry the Passkey Wallet setup in Talentir.
